Pianist and composer Keith Kirchoff has performed throughout all of North America, as well as Italy, Great Britain, Belgium, Germany, Mexico, and The Netherlands. A strong advocate for modern music, Kirchoff has premiered over 100 new works and commissioned nearly two dozen compositions. As part of his commitment to fostering new audiences for contemporary music, Kirchoff has appeared at colleges and universities across the country as a lecture-recitalist. He has played with orchestras throughout the U.S., performing a wide range of concerto, including the Boston premiere of Charles Ives's Emerson Concerto and the world premier of Matthew McConnell's Concerto for Toy Piano. Kirchoff has won awards from the Steinway Socity, MetLife Meet the Composer, the Foundation for Contemporary Arts, and was named the 2011 Distinguished Scholar by the SMSA. The Performance Director of the East Coast Contemporary Ensemble, Kirchoff is also the co-founder of Electric Noise and Agenda, and has appeared with the Pittsburgh New Music and Ensemble and the Callithumpian Consort. He has released the world premier recording of John Luther Adams's For Lou Harrison on new World Records withthe Callithumpian Consort, and will appear on two other upcoming releases featuring the music of Earle Browne and Christian Wolff. He has recorded on the New World, Zerx, Bridge, and SEAMUS labels, and his recording "The Electro-Acoustic Piano" will be released in 2011.
